Role description

We are seeking a Programmer/Developer/Management Consultant for our Business Advisory practice in Los Angeles or Irvine, CA. Candidates should have an engineering background (e.g., Civil, Environmental, or related) and a passion for combining engineering knowledge with information technology, business analytics, and data engineering to address critical challenges in the water, wastewater, and stormwater industries.

Role accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Assess, develop, and support a variety of management and information technology consulting projects, including data analytics, financial analysis, operational and organizational assessments, and condition assessments.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to understand and document requirements, and deliver solutions through reports, visualizations, and presentations.
  • Support tasks ranging from fieldwork to technical office‑based analysis, and assist in technical writing and business development materials.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects with strict deadlines, maintaining flexibility to collaborate across the U.S. and internationally.

Qualifications

& Experience

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Computer or Data Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
  • 2+ years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Computer or Data Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python, R).
  • Proficiency in database management systems (MS SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Exposure to programming languages (Python, Java, or C#) and software development lifecycle tools (Jira, Dev Ops).
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience in the water industry (e.g., water, wastewater, or stormwater utilities) or a strong interest in applying engineering and analytics skills to this sector.
