The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, develops and manufactures systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment;
Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament test equipment;
Marvin Land Systems specializes in power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained “A Tradition of Excellence” supporting all branches of the Department of Defense and our global partners. Our collaborations span programs with major prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position requires a background in aerospace manufacturing with emphasis on mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing / machining of large complex metallic components, electromechanical components and some CNC experience is desired. This role involves translating customer engineering requirements per drawing into manufacturability assessments, creating manufacturing planning and bills of material (BOM), designing tooling/fixtures, collaborating with manufacturing personnel to improve processes, troubleshooting assembly and machining problems, and reducing manufacture time while ensuring quality, integrity and certification properties are maintained or improved.

The candidate must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment, either in groups or individually.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support Production to ensure products are built to specifications and engineering documents
  • Provide feedback to improve product design for ease of manufacturing, cost optimization, and reduced time to manufacture
  • Prepare engineering changes to support manufacturing and quality of parts produced
  • Identify new equipment, tool designs, and processes to improve consistency, accuracy, and cycle times. Design tooling, fixtures and jigs to improve manufacturing with zero defect level and low product cost
  • Ensure standardization and compliance to engineering, customer and company specifications for processes used in production
  • Interface directly with assemblers, production supervisors, leads, and management on a routine basis
  • Provide technical support in troubleshooting existing manufacturing processes and/or product lines to achieve customer quality standards and profit objectives
  • Assist in optimizing manufacturing efficiency and quality standards through the implementation of improved processes, materials, methods and facilities
Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Proficient in English reading and writing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and use of machinery including programming of NC machines
  • Knowledge in design of jigs and tooling used for assembly of the final product
  • Must have knowledge of materials and metals processing, including heat treat and coatings for aerospace requirements
  • Must be able to perform basic measurement and inspection processes
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in creation of manufacturing planning for product realization
  • Must have experience with MIL-STD documents, reading and interpretation of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standard
  • Must be able to write engineering reports that include analysis and results
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment in groups or individually
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • CAD experience in CATIA or Pro-E is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products is essential
