What We Do:

Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. In the past few years, Woodcraft has expanded its menu of services beyond traditional after school programs and summer camps to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, we offer

Lifecraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 1,500 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 25,000 youth ages 4 to 18 each year across 130 plus Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, and continues to expand its reach.

Job Summary:

Club Leadersare responsible for ensuring a fun and positive learning environment forclub participants and will supportclubs of approximately 20children. Clubleadershave the opportunity togrow, connect,playand have the greatest impact on each of theirclub participants.

Other members of the team include asitecoordinator, who oversees theprogramand acommunityliaison who supports thesitecoordinator.

Allstaff can choose between workinginschool sites, sleepawaycamp, or both.

The Club Leader position is an on-site position, including attending training at the Woodcraft Rangersmain officein Little Tokyo and school sites.

Role Overview:

  • Ensurestudentsareinasafeenvironment(physicallyandemotionally).Promotesaninclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families.

  • Developsandleadsage-appropriateprogramactivitiesthatare

    FUN, engagingandalignedwithwhole-childapproach(social emotional learning,skill building,self-esteem,leadership,etc.). WRhasan activity catalog to support the development of activity plans.

  • Monitorsparticipantattendanceandengagementtoensureparticipants are present and actively engaged in program activities.

  • Buildpositiverelationshipswithprogramparticipants,colleagues,andallstakeholders.

  • Collaborates with colleaguesandsupervisorto develop culminating activitiesorevents thatshowcaseallparticipantswork and accomplishments.

  • Requestsrequiredmaterialsinatimelymannerso Site Coordinatorcanensurematerials  are available when needed and within budget.

  • Complieswithall applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols, including, up to date on alltrainingsand required certifications.

  • Mayberequiredtoattend off-sitefieldtrips.

  • Maintainandsubmitstudentattendancedaily.

  • Participateinstaffdevelopmenttrainingsasrequired, approximately
    15 hoursspreadout over multiple weekends/intersessional days throughout the spring.

  • Club Leadersareaccountabletothe Site Coordinator and Program Manager for  assigned duties.

  • Otherrelateddutiesasassigned.
