Role Summary

The Behavior Intervention Implementation (BII) Aide provides intensive, individualized behavioral support to scholars whose behaviors significantly interfere with learning, primarily through the consistent implementation of a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) or related behavior support plan. Working under the supervision of a Behavior Intervention Developer (BID), BCBA, or designated behavior specialist, the BII Aide delivers tier III interventions in general education and special education settings to help scholars access instruction and participate safely in the school community.

Responsibilities
  • Support the resource and general education teachers with the implementation of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for a specific scholar with special needs.
  • Monitor the behavior and interactions of the assigned scholar throughout the school day, maintaining close supervision during classroom and non‑classroom activities.
  • Collect, record, and maintain behavioral data in accordance with the scholar's Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), ensuring accurate tracking of targeted behaviors, interventions, and progress for review by the BIP team.
  • Confer with Teachers regularly to assist in evaluating scholar progress and/or monitoring progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
  • Instruct the scholar on appropriate behavior and guidelines for acceptable social interaction.
  • Serve as a key staff member responsible for supporting the scholar’s safety and wellbeing during the school day.
  • Assist teachers and other support staff with the preparation and/or presentation of learning materials, administration of tests, testing accommodations, and activities, and with monitoring scholar achievement.
  • Attend training related to a specific scholar's disability about best practices to assist the scholar.
  • Attend parent‑teacher conferences and IEP meetings as requested by the Teacher, Case Manager or Principal.
  • Depending on the assignment, provide specialized health care support as outlined by state regulations.
  • Support documentation and tracking of services offered to the scholar by completing trackers, behavior logs, and other forms of documentation.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
