• Deliver instruction according to an approved course syllabus using effective teaching methods; develop daily lesson plans; advise and tutor students; maintain accurate attendance and grade records; remain current in the applicable program teaching field; participate in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in-service training sessions.
• Serve as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator.
• Focus on facilitating student learning aligned with prescribed course and program outcomes.
• Actively participate in the assessment of student learning activities to maximize learning outcomes.

• 3 years of occupational experience in the subject field or a closely related field.
• Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which you are assigned, which can be met by:
• One (1) year’s continuous, full-time or equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area.
• OR one (1) academic year of RN-level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency.
• Completion of at least one (1) year of experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course with teaching practice in registered nursing.
• Demonstrated training in educational methods, testing and evaluation, and evidence strength in instructional methodology, delivery, and techniques as indicated by supervisory evaluation within 30 days of beginning instruction.
• Experience with online learning management systems to engage student learning is desirable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and other MS Office products as needed.

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with coursework in nursing, education, or administration; or a degree from an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with relevant coursework in nursing or related sciences relevant to nursing practice.

• Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in California.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
