Position descriptionThe Department of Theatre in the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television is accepting applications to its pool of candidates for full and/or part‑time lecturers to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of acting, design, directing, play writing, theatre history and performance studies. Responsibilities include teaching lecture and/or studio style courses, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, and the writing and grading of assignments and exams.
Lecturer appointments are made on a quarter‑by‑quarter basis, subject to the department’s evolving instructional needs and budget. Due to the nature of the role, openings are typically only available to address last‑minute vacancies or unexpected needs. Applications will be retained for consideration if such opportunities arise throughout the year.
