We are seeking a patient, organized, and engaging homeschool teacher/tutor to support two children (5th grade and 2nd grade) in Math, Reading, and Writing. This role focuses on reinforcing grade-level concepts, building strong academic foundations, and supporting independent learning in a structured but positive environment.
The ideal candidate is confident differentiating instruction for two age groups, communicates clearly, and brings consistency and encouragement to learning.
Responsibilities- Provide small-group instruction for a 5th grader and 2nd grader
- Teach and reinforce Math, Reading, and Writing skills appropriate to each grade level
- Adapt lessons to meet different learning styles and paces
- Assist with reading comprehension, writing structure, spelling, and math problem-solving
- Support organization, focus, and study habits
- Track progress and communicate updates to parents
- Maintain a calm, positive, and encouraging learning environment
- Experience tutoring or teaching elementary-age students (classroom, homeschool, or private tutoring)
- Strong understanding of elementary Math and English Language Arts
- Ability to differentiate instruction for multiple grade levels
- Patient, dependable, and child-friendly
- Clear communication skills with both children and parents
- Reliable transportation and consistent availability Mon–Wed
- Background in education, child development, or a related field
- Familiarity with homeschool or alternative education settings
- Experience working with different learning styles or attention needs
- Ability to create or supplement lesson plans and activities
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Consistent weekly schedule
