Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment organization, is currently seeking a Lead Elementary School Teacher at an independent school in the Los Angeles area.

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of and interest in the developmental nuances of lower elementary school-aged children.
• Model the school's core values and help provide a joyful, inclusive school experience within and beyond the classroom.
• Teach whole class and small groups of children core curriculum.
• Integrate rich hands-on experiences and explorations.
• Work with administrators and peers to strengthen pedagogy and take advantage of professional development opportunities.
• Teach daily phonics, reading, and writing using an evidence-based approach
• Teach daily math using the Math in Focus (Singapore Math) program.
• Teach integrated social studies content and skills.
• Individualize learning through differentiation that helps build concepts and extend learning.
• Use learning experiences and assessments to inform instruction and create individualized and small group learning experiences.
• Use Responsive Classroom structures and principles to inform effective classroom routines and management.

• Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree and 5 years elementary teaching experience preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• Deep understanding of and interest in the developmental nuances of elementary school-aged children and knowledge of subjects taught
• Strong knowledge of pedagogy and educational tools, including Mac and Google platforms
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; joyful, enthusiastic, and reflective
• Evidence of lifelong learning and professional development
• Knowledge of anti-bias teaching practices, Responsive Classroom, and mindfulness is helpful
• U.S. Work Authorization required.

Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
