The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the largest community college district in the United States and one of the largest in the world. Position

Under the direction of the Athletic Director and Administration, the Head Football Coach will provide leadership, direction, and oversee all coaching for an intercollegiate football program. The position is part‑time (ADJ) and will begin student recruitment and practice immediately for the 2026 season. The coach must adhere to LACCD rules and regulations and support the student‑athlete concept, demonstrating concern for health, safety, and welfare of each student‑athlete.

The role also includes additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of full‑time professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment, or
  • Associate's degree and six years of full‑time professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of district faculty, staff, and students.
Eligibility Requirements / Covid‑19 Vaccination

Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustees Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. Newly hired employees must provide vaccination status prior to starting the position.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Competence with the CCCAA athletic rules and regulations.
  • Educational background in Education, Physical Education, Exercise Sciences, or Kinesiology is highly valued.
  • Prior coaching experience in a college or high‑school environment with a track record of effectively managing a sports program.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for diverse groups.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all facets of the specified sports program.
  • Proficiency in athletic recruitment methods, with emphasis on ethical strategies.
  • Skills in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor student‑athletes.
  • Familiarity with 3C2A and SCFA regulations.
  • Aptitude for teamwork and cooperation within the athletic department.
  • Competence in administrative decisions and judgments.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instructional duties in the Department, including teaching, developing and assessing student learning outcomes, managing class rosters, and timely grade submissions.
  • Athletic operations: schedule games, plan practices, manage competitions and travel logistics, and oversee hiring of assistant coaches.
  • Recruitment: scout, identify, and recommend student‑athletes, emphasizing diversity and competitiveness.
  • Monitor academic progress of student‑athletes to ensure compliance with eligibility requirements.
  • Maintain strict adherence to 3C2A, WSC, SCFA, LACCD Board rules, and Athletics Department policies.
  • Community engagement, public relations, and fundraising support with the college administration.
  • Fiscal management of the program’s budget and fundraising activities.
  • Attendance at department, district, college, conference, and state meetings as required.
  • Professional representation of the Los Angeles Community College District.
  • Culturally responsive interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Work weekends, evenings, and holidays throughout the year.
  • Participate in curriculum development and other faculty responsibilities.
  • Perform additional athletic‑related tasks as assigned, including meet hosting, facility setup, and maintenance.
