The LAUSD Math Tutor will work in collaboration with our Los Angeles area schools. The tutor is responsible for instruction in small groups with a focus on closing the achievement gap and building a stronger academic foundation.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in small groups
- Set and maintain high expectations for students
- Collect and analyze data
- Build relationships with students in service of their academic growth
- Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- Motivate students to attend daily
- Communicate with PLI management, school staff, and parents
- Adhere to Proximity Learning, Inc timelines and expectations
- Work on-site in the Los Angeles, CA area
- Experience working with students either as a teacher, tutor or as a resource personnel
- Understand the need for accurate PLI record keeping and documentation in a timely manner
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
- Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Must live in the Los Angeles, CA area
- This is an on-site position
- Must have own transportation
- Be willing to work between 20 to 40 hours per week
- You will work with 52 Street Elementary School or Arroyo Seco Museum Science Magnet School
