Position will be working at various high school locations for West Los Angeles area. Location can change at the discretion of the Director.
The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) is an academic preparation program established in 1976 by the University of California to expand postsecondary education opportunities for California’s educationally disadvantaged students. UCLA EAOP works with students to help them become competitively eligible applicants for college admission, going beyond minimum eligibility. EAOP works collaboratively with families, educators, schools, communities, and various campus departments to provide pre-college students with challenging academic enrichment activities to promote and cultivate a college-going culture.
EAOP is one of the state’s most successful pre-collegiate student academic development programs. UCLA EAOP works with over 15,000 students in middle school and high school each year. This includes working with 81 schools in 10 school districts. Since 1991, approximately 60% of EAOP seniors meet UC eligibility each year, 82% attend a postsecondary institution upon high school graduation and 62% attend a 4-year institution, with 25% attending a UC school.

& Compensation
UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common.
Qualifications- Demonstrated communication skills in writing as well as verbally to obtain and convey information to individuals at various organizational levels. (Required)
- Ability to establish and work in teams and maintain cooperative professional relationships with all contacts, to include students, parents, community participants, university and school personnel. (Required)
- Demonstrated skill in program planning, implementation, administration and evaluation with specially targeted students. Working knowledge of California post-secondary educational opportunities, institutions, and student affairs' services. (Required)
- Skill in communicating effectively with people of diverse ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic and educational levels. Also, effective in communicating in individual or large group settings, as well as from. (Required)
- Organizational and time management skills to coordinate a complex set of work schedules and outreach/college preparatory activities over a period of time. Able to handle multiple assignments concurrently and meet deadlines. (Required)
- Thorough understanding of the social, cultural, political, and economic dynamics where EAOP's services are provided. Sensitive and empathetic in dealing with students, parents, educators, and community leaders from EAOP's service areas. (Required)
- Organizational and time management skills to coordinate a complex set of work schedules and outreach/college preparatory activities over a period of time. (Required)
