Overview
The LA Conservation Corps (the Corps) is a private, nonprofit organization that has helped at-risk young adults develop themselves since 1986. To date, more than 20,000 young people have participated in Corps classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for residents of the greater Los Angeles area.
MissionThe primary mission of the LA Conservation Corps is to provide at-risk young adults with opportunities for success through job skills training, education and work experience with an emphasis on conservation and service projects that benefit the community.
Position SummaryReporting to the Program Coordinator, Site Supervisors implement programs that serve to provide middle school youth with an opportunity for developing educational and life skills to become productive, happy members of the world community.
The LA Conservation Corps is a major subcontractor of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Beyond the Bell Branch for providing comprehensive after school programs on District campuses. Each Site Supervisor is responsible for the successful implementation of an academic enrichment program at one of these school sites.
Essential Responsibilities- Opportunity to put additional emphasis on academic outcomes during Beyond The Bell after school programs.
- Make the connection between the after school program and regular school day
- Provide students with academic assistance or academic enrichment activities
- Identify 20 students during the instructional day. Attendance of students cannot fall below 15
- The extra academic assistance / enrichment activity may not be during the regular instructional time
- Teachers cannot work during professional development or minimum days
- All students must sign in and sign out daily. The student daily sign in/out must be turned in on a daily basis to the Site Supervisor or Site Director
- Every student must complete all required registration forms. Once collected it is submitted to the Site Director or Site Supervisor
Notes for Teachers: The student daily sign in/out are submitted to the LAUSD - Beyond The Bell office. Ensure sign-ins are accurate and honest. Student daily sign-ins will be collected daily.
Qualifications- LAUSD employee during instructional day at after school program site
- Credential Teacher
- Responsible, professional, organized
- Pass a post-offer Live Scan (fingerprint/background clearance - Department of Justice) before commencing employment
- Employment in this position is contingent on continuance of funding for the program
- Traditional Schools - 180 days of school year per contract (August 2022– June 2023)
- 3-4 days a week for 1.5 hours a day
- Occasional Saturday Morning Professional Development Trainings

Contract Employee - Hourly Rate: $40/hour
