The Instructional Design Consultant will develop engaging, effective learning solutions using industry-standard instructional design methodologies and e-learning development tools.
This role includes conducting needs assessments, designing instructional materials, developing digital courseware, collaborating with subject matter experts, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
Key Responsibilities- Implement instructional design methodologies to create high-quality learning solutions.
- Conduct training needs assessments, audience analysis, and content analysis.
- Develop instructional strategies, performance measurement tools, and training materials such as flowcharts, storyboards, visual aids, participant guides, job aids, and user guides.
- Design instructional materials for instructor-led training, online learning programs, web-based tools, and blended learning solutions.
- Develop course content based on information provided by subject matter experts.
- Create outcome-based objectives for learners and facilitators.
- Write scripts using clear, conversational, active language tailored to the target audience.
- Use authoring tools and software applications to develop web-based instruction.
- Design audiovisual and interactive elements, including screen layouts, human-machine interfaces, and supporting course documentation.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between storyboards and courseware production.
- Evaluate instructional programs and processes, including developing and implementing formative and summative evaluation plans.
- Identify and recommend mitigation strategies based on evaluation findings.
- 5+ years of experience in learning strategy, instructional methodologies, and developing solutions within project schedule and budget targets.
- 5+ years of instructional design experience, including working with e-learning standards and building e-learning courseware.
- 2+ years of experience developing courseware using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms; exposure to emerging tools including video and AR/VR technologies.
- 2+ years of experience communicating with stakeholders in consulting or digital transformation environments to gather and deliver information effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, communications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s degree in education, instructional design, communications, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
Experience in consulting or professional services environments. - Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to grasp technical content and stay current with emerging instructional technologies.
- Ability to provide detailed information and concise summaries to leadership and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision‑making skills with the ability to identify root causes and evaluate solution options.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross‑functional team environment.
- Consistent, dependable work ethic with a collaborative, flexible, and results‑oriented mindset.
