Position OverviewAs a Physics Teacher, you will drive exceptional student learning, ensuring all meet or exceed ambitious standards for academic and social-emotional growth and achievement. In addition to planning and implementing a rigorous standards-aligned physics curriculum, you will coach and support a cohort of advisees throughout their time at Ednovate and actively contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented team and school culture. This full-time, exempt position reports to the principal.
WhatYou'll Do
- Master your content. Develop and implement cutting edge digital curriculum aligned to the Common Core Standards/NGSS, ensuring students have access to a high-quality, personalized college prep experience. Teach physics principles from motion and energy to forces and interactions, fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving skills through hands-on discovery.
- Implement best-in-class personalized instruction. Create and execute rigorous lesson and unit plans through backwards planning. Regularly track student mastery through data systems and adapt instruction. Lead students in developing passion and purpose through project-based learning. Provide clear, actionable feedback to drive growth.
- Build transformative relationships with students. Through advisory, mentor a group of students throughout their high school experience. Support advisees in meeting yearly promotion requirements through guided reflection and one-on-one conferences.
- Create and maintain a caring and accountable student culture. Establish clear class structures, routines, and expectations aligned with our student culture model. Foster community through relationship-building among students. Hold high expectations and support students to meet them.
- Contribute positively to the team. Build positive relationships with teammates. Engage in constructive dialogue to surface the best ideas. Drive for clarity in decision making. Seek and provide feedback for individual and team growth. Commit to collective results.

- Bachelor's degree, required
- A California Single Subject Teaching Credential or Out of State Teaching Credential, preferred; clear path to receiving a teaching credential within a year, required
- 2+ years of teaching experience in a relevant subject area with a strong record of improving student learning, strongly preferred
- Significant content expertise in physics, required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, families, required
- A competitive and transparent salary ($70,250-$120,019, depending on background and experience)
