Course / Program DescriptionUCLA Extension courses span engineering, computer science, and technical management subjects. The Engineering and Computer Science Academic Unit offers a wide variety of certificate programs and courses that include post‑baccalaureate credit‑bearing (400‑level) and continuing education (CEU) credit courses. Students learn from highly qualified practitioners who hold advanced degrees and are passionate about teaching.
Job DescriptionProject Management instructor to teach courses in a variety of modalities: 100% online, live‑online (Zoom), or in‑person in Westwood or downtown Los Angeles.
We are seeking professionals who can convey their industry experience and knowledge to students using real‑world examples. Industry experience is a must.
Qualified applicants possessing current knowledge and teaching experience in any of the following topic areas are encouraged to apply:
- Fundamentals of Project Management
- Project Schedule and Cost Management
- Project Quality and Leadership
- Project Risk and Procurement Management
- Project Management Capstone
- Project Planning with MS Project
- Leadership and Human Element in Project Management
- Project Monitoring and Control
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Exam Prep Training
- Develop and/or update existing course syllabus in consultation with the UCLA Extension Portfolio Director as assigned using approved syllabus template.
- Prepare course materials and learning assessments in Canvas.
- Communicate and teach the course objectives and specific learning outcomes to students.
- Hold once a week online office hours via Zoom for the 100% online instructional mode.
- Interact weekly and preferably daily with students' discussion posts on Canvas to promote high engagement and collaboration.
- Review students' progress through the course and assign timely grading.
- Respond to student questions and learning needs in a timely manner.
- Enter final letter grades in the portal at the end of each quarter.

QualificationsBasic qualifications
- MBA or MS in Project Management and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience OR, Bachelor's Degree and 15 years of relevant industry experience.
- Must be committed to the highest level of academic standards and integrity.
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey conceptual and complex ideas and information.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in the use of instructional technology and online teaching tools.
Preferred qualifications
- PMP Certification by PMI.
- PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP) Instructor.
- Teaching experience at the College‑level or higher.
- Experience designing curriculum on Canvas (or similar) and measuring student performance.
