Correctional Health Services – Recruitment Bonus

Correctional Health Services offers a 20% recruitment and retention bonus for full-time Physician Specialist positions in the following specialties:
Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Infectious Disease, OB/GYN General, Internal Medicine. Positions are on-site in a designated facility to meet critical healthcare needs for the jail population.

Physician Specialist with the Psychiatric specialty hired at the Office of Diversion and Re-Entry will start at step 7.

Job Functions

Performs medical work in a specialized field, including specialized surgical procedures; prescribes drugs and/or therapy; monitors progress and adjusts treatments; conducts training; consults with staff physicians; provides consultation to other medical services; conducts postmortem examinations; works with toxicology to determine causes of death; certifies causes of death and may testify as an expert witness; participates in administrative duties such as budgeting and procedures;

plans and directs health programs; develops new techniques; maintains variable hours with on-call requirements; may conduct specialized research or preventive/educational services.

Minimum Requirements

Completion of a residency approved by an American Specialty Board in one or more designated specialties or equivalent training.

License

California State Physician and Surgeon's Certificate authorized by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California.

A valid California Class C Driver License or ability to use an alternative transportation method to perform job functions.

Physical Class

3 - Moderate:
Standing or walking most of the time with various movements; occasionally lifting >25 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.
