Overview

STAFF PHYSICIAN

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides primary and preventive care by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and other disorders.

• Provide medical services to the patients of CCHC, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide quality medical care.
• Stabilize and refer when necessary patients presenting to the office in need of urgent care, regardless of whether the patient falls within the category normally seen by that physician.
• Examine and treat any patient assigned to another provider or assist in triaging and rescheduling if that other provider is unable to attend or complete their office duties for emergency reasons.
• Complete patient charts according to the usual accepted standards of the medical practice and the medical record criteria requirements.
• Assist in obtaining lab specimens from patients when there is difficulty in obtaining such specimens.
• Complete administrative projects as assigned by the Medical Director.
• Maintain any requirements needed to keep a medical license, board certification, or admitting privileges at the hospital to which patients are admitted.
• Participate in the on-call schedule as set forth by the Medical Director.
• Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the area of the physician's specialty.
• Serve as preceptor for medical students, nurse practitioners, physician assistant students, and residents as assigned by the Medical Director.
• Be familiar with and adhere to all medical office policy and procedure manuals.
• Act as supervisory physician for mid-level providers regarding clinical issues and state regulatory requirements.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities and assist with audits to complete QA activities or program requirements.
• Continually advise administration of issues that may impact the practice.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the Medical Director.

• Graduate from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
• Completion of an accredited residency.
• Board certification or board eligible in specialty.
• Unrestricted license to practice within California.
• Valid DEA.
• PALS or NRP; ACLS may be required.

• Greet patients before they greet you.
• Listen, respond, and make eye contact with every patient.
• Personalize interactions with each patient.
• Explain to each patient the process of care.
• Provide patients with updates throughout their visit.

Salary Rate: $300,000–$330,000 per year.
