On-Call PRN Physician
Concentra seeks a dedicated physician to provide critical after‑hours coverage for occupational medicine patients. This role involves on‑call shifts from 7 PM - 7 AM Monday‑Friday, and 12‑hour or 24‑hour weekend coverage.
Responsibilities- Performs medical assessment of Center patients.
- Establishes and monitors a medically appropriate level of care for Center patients.
- Maintains clinical core competency and works with the Center Medical Director to ensure operations align with medical policy and professional standards.
- Participates in policy development, in‑service training, and quality‑assurance programs.
- Reviews statistical reports related to Center operations and recommends growth opportunities.
- Regularly meets with Concentra’s Medical Director to discuss patient‑care quality.
- Submits periodic reports on Center activities to Concentra and the Association.
- Assists with scheduling and coverage for Centers owned, operated, or managed by the Association or Concentra.
- Provides budgetary input to ensure medical responsibilities are met.
- Engages in projects to improve occupational medicine services delivered at the Center.
- Participates in routine and episodic quality‑assurance processes.
- Ensures compliance with licensing, certification, and accrediting requirements.
- Develops and presents education programs for staff.
- Represents Association and Concentra at internal and external meetings.
- Conducts workplace walk‑throughs and on‑site assessments with employers.
- Calls client representatives for initial injuries and changes of duty status.
- Participates in the “call” program to facilitate after‑hours and weekend case care.
- Provides guidance to other medical staff in the absence of the Center Medical Director.
- MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted medical license.
- Unrestricted DEA license and state‑dispensing license (required prior to start date).
- Eligibility to participate in Medicare.
- Core competencies:
Service mentality, attention to detail, sense of urgency, initiative, flexibility. - Decision‑making, problem‑solving, critical thinking, customer service skills.
- Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements, clinical operations, OSHA, DOT, HIPAA, PHI.
- Ability to educate and train staff, document and record information, and monitor performance.
- Training provided in the World‑Class Occupational Medicine Process Management model.
- Medical malpractice coverage.
- 401(k) with employer match.
Compensation: $125.00 – $150.00 hourly (plus $15.00 per hour for standby).
