Schedule: Day Shift
Position: Sr. Healthcare Interior Designer
The Sr. Healthcare Interior Designer is responsible for maintaining and updating CHLA finish standards, including furniture, artwork and signages. Must be able to independently research, evaluate and select materials, fabrics and furniture as part of maintaining the finishing standards and as new needs arise. Produce schematic finish packages based on CHLA finish standards in support of donor funding opportunities, for approval by end users and enterprise leaders.
May include development of floor plans, pattern design, nurse stations, elevations, room finishes, etc. Collaborates with Capital Project Managers to ensure design teams properly use and implement the CHLA finish standards in construction projects. Includes assisting various design teams as needed and final review/approval of construction documents. Leads enterprise initiative projects (way finding/capital renewal) under the guidance of the Director of Planning and Design.
Assists in and leads stakeholder meetings, documents objectives and effectively analyzes need vs. wants. Must be a self-starter, able to independently research, evaluate and select materials, fabrics and furniture as part of maintaining CHLA design standards and as new needs arise. Familiar with applicable authorities having jurisdiction (e.g., DBS, HCAI) and healthcare regulatory bodies (CMS, CDPH).
- Maintain and update CHLA finish standards, including furniture, artwork and signages.
- Independently research, evaluate and select materials, fabrics and furniture for finishing standards and new needs.
- Produce schematic finish packages for donor funding opportunities and obtain approvals from end users and enterprise leaders.

- 10+ years of related experience, with a minimum of 7 years in healthcare-specific projects.
- Knowledge of healthcare-specific regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with evidence-based design principles and regulatory compliance for healthcare environments.

- Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. - Preferred: NCIDQ or CID certification.
Base pay range: $88,961.00/yr - $/yr
CHLA values the contribution each team member brings to our organization. Final determination of starting pay will vary based on factors including education and experience. The pay scale listed is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications. Additional pay may be determined for those who exceed these qualifications.
