About the Role

it-makes is seeking a Project Architect with strong design sensibility, technical skill, and a passion for delivering thoughtful, well-crafted work. This role is ideal for someone who works great collaboratively and can also take initiative and ownership of projects from concept through construction. As we are an office that is proud of our work-life balance and are non-believers in micromanagement, this means that you need to be self-powered and timely with your work.

You’ll work on a range of typologies - from custom residential and commercial to institutional and master planning projects, each an opportunity to shape meaningful, lasting design in Los Angeles and beyond. In fact, we ve probably done a couple of your favorite restaurants/hangouts!

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and contribute to all phases of design and project delivery, from concept through construction administration.
  • Develop coordinated drawing sets and technical documentation with attention to detail and clarity.
  • Engage directly with clients, consultants, and contractors through meetings, coordination, and site visits.
  • Ensure design intent and technical precision are aligned across all project stages.
  • Balance design creativity with constructability, schedule, and budget considerations.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in Revit
    , AutoCAD
    , Adobe Creative Suite
    , and Sketch Up or Rhino
    .
  • Strong design sense supported by solid technical knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across project phases.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with building codes, materials, and construction methods.
  • Architectural licensure or progress toward licensure preferred (ARE support provided by firm).
