Interior Design Associate

Role Description

The Interior Design Associate is a full-time position based in West Los Angeles
. This role involves , managing design projects from concept through completion in support of Senior Design Associate. The role involves proficient, detail oriented coordination and collaboration with outside architects, clients, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative design solutions.

Key responsibilities include supporting and executing the design process under the guidance of the Senior Design Associate, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and client and brand guidelines, as well as performing other tasks necessary to translate CRA’s design vision into an executable reality.

The Interior Design Associate is positioned above Interns and Junior Associates and reports to the Senior Design Associate and CRA Principals. The role requires a solid understanding of the steps and actions necessary to manage and execute the design process, with collaboration and support from other CRA team members. Above all, the successful candidate will demonstrate grit, a strong work ethic, an open mind toward learning new ways of working, and a passion for project execution.

This role requires a detail oriented, self-starter who desires to grow their career through direct involvement on a variety of CRA projects from large-scale, full service hospitality, to multi-family and custom residential.

Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of interpreting drawings, with a strong ability to identify conflicts, issues, opportunities, and their relationship to the project narrative
  • Strong understanding of FF&E specification writing, sourcing, FF&E nomenclature and budgeting
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review, comment on, and critique shop drawings and vendor submittals in alignment with CRA’s design intent
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple outside stakeholders, including clients, brands, project managers, architects, contractors, and consultants
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with project stakeholders on behalf of CRA
  • Ability to listen, understand, and accurately summarize project discussions and directives in both written and verbal formats
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot problems and address field or as-built challenges
  • Ability to assemble and present professional presentation decks
Skills
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Teams, FF&E specification programs, and Adobe Photoshop (minimum requirements)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketch Up
  • Comfort with AI tools and a strong desire to learn, develop, and implement new ideas
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate a unique value-add skill that differentiates you from other candidates—one that will contribute meaningfully to the future growth, success, and culture of CRA
