This role collaborates with the Chief Dental Officer to lead the dental department, ensuring high-quality dental services and compliance with program and regulatory guidelines. Key responsibilities include supervision of dentists, hygienists, and office managers; monitoring quality of care; managing recruitment and retention; and evaluating services.
Reports to: Chief Dental Officer.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Qualifications- A graduate of an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Surgery (DDS) or a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
- Current license to practice in California and a DEA number.
- Five years of dentistry practice, including two years of supervisory experience at a community clinic (FQHC preferred).
- Current CPR certification, in compliance with corporate policy.
- Knowledge and skills to provide age‑appropriate care, able to identify needs for infant, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients.
- Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and general office practices.
- Fluency in English (speak, read, write).
- Fluency in Spanish (speak, translate, read, write) preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and databases.
- Effective oral communication skills, including public speaking.
- Ability to listen and communicate professionally and sensitively with diverse individuals.
- Self‑starter, reliable with good time management.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to make routine recommendations.
- Team player attitude.
- Sensitivity to diverse cultures among staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient/client information.
- Current California driver’s license, insurance coverage, and acceptable driving record if required.
