Associate Dental Director

This role collaborates with the Chief Dental Officer to lead the dental department, ensuring high-quality dental services and compliance with program and regulatory guidelines. Key responsibilities include supervision of dentists, hygienists, and office managers; monitoring quality of care; managing recruitment and retention; and evaluating services.

Reports to: Chief Dental Officer.

Base pay range

$/yr - $/yr

Qualifications
  • A graduate of an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Surgery (DDS) or a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
  • Current license to practice in California and a DEA number.
  • Five years of dentistry practice, including two years of supervisory experience at a community clinic (FQHC preferred).
  • Current CPR certification, in compliance with corporate policy.
  • Knowledge and skills to provide age‑appropriate care, able to identify needs for infant, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients.
  • Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and general office practices.
  • Fluency in English (speak, read, write).
  • Fluency in Spanish (speak, translate, read, write) preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and databases.
  • Effective oral communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to listen and communicate professionally and sensitively with diverse individuals.
  • Self‑starter, reliable with good time management.
  • Problem‑solving skills and ability to make routine recommendations.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Sensitivity to diverse cultures among staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient/client information.
  • Current California driver’s license, insurance coverage, and acceptable driving record if required.
