Position OverviewWe seek candidates with customer service, cashier, sales, or hospitality experience. The Member Loyalty Representative’s focus is creating a rewarding member service experience by educating members and communities about our inclusive, affordable financial services. This includes store-based service and community outreach.
Responsibilities- Welcome members with a warm greeting and provide quality member service.
- Seamlessly process all transactions while following company policies and protecting member information.
- Work independently or as part of a team, exceeding daily goals in lending and servicing activities.
- Engage in outreach activities more than 50% of the time at Oportun locations, partner locations, and community events. Activities include:
- Building relationships with local businesses and educating owners and employees about Oportun’s services.
- Conducting outreach at local flea markets, community events, and Lending As A Service partner locations to increase awareness, capture leads, and assist with applications.
- Actively engaging with people near Oportun’s retail locations, encouraging store visits, and assisting with applications.
- Supporting community outreach and marketing events by distributing flyers and educating the local community about Oportun and its products.
- Using iPads or helping potential members scan QR codes during outreach to start new applications.
- Maintain a clean work area through light housekeeping: daily trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and window cleaning as needed.
- Use a computer intermittently (approx. 3–6 hours per day) for administrative tasks and member servicing.
- Stand while assisting members; sit during non‑member‑facing tasks.
- Occasionally unpack and store office or cleaning supplies.
- Travel between designated work locations (including outreach activities) within a reasonable commuting distance; travel limited to sites considered part of an ordinary commute.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Outgoing, sales‑focused, and enjoys speaking with people.
- Passionate about helping members, including prospective members through outreach and educational activities.
- Available to work weekends and flexible with a rotating schedule based on store needs; schedules are set every two weeks.
- Reliable attendance to support store operations.
- Willing and able to work outdoors year‑round for outreach activities.
- Ability to lift or move objects up to 25 pounds, as needed.
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate phones, scanners, and iPads.
- Ability to organize and file paper documents.
