Role Overview
Our brand Auteur Studio is seeking a highly organized, taste-driven Part-Time Design Assistant to support women’s wear design and product development from concept through sample execution and launch readiness. This role supports design execution, tech pack building, fittings, print tracking, and content readiness
—helping translate creative direction into clear, production-ready deliverables while maintaining brand standards.
This position is ideal for someone who loves elevated product, has strong follow-through, and can manage multiple deadlines without losing details.
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid with on-site fittings as needed)
Schedule: Part-time (approx. 10–15 hrs/week, flexible; potential to grow)
Reports to: Design Director + Lead Fit Technician
Works closely with: Product Development, Production, Merchandising/E-commerce, Photo team, External vendors/factories
Key Responsibilities- Design & Development Support (Core)
- Support seasonal and in-season range planning (capsule/SKU support, category balancing, hero vs support pieces)
- Maintain organized style trackers:
style status, fabric allocation, print placement, approvals - Support fabric kit organization and allocation across the collection (swatch tracking, comments, updates)
- Tech Packs & Documentation (Major Component)
- Build and update tech packs (flats, measurements, construction callouts, BOMs, trim placement)
- Maintain strong version control so teams always work from the latest information
- Translate fitting outcomes into clear updates for vendors/factories
- Fittings & Fit Execution
- Attend fittings as needed and support the Lead Fit Technician with:
- Prep (samples, reference images, notes)
- Note-taking + recap distribution
- Follow-up updates into tech packs and trackers
- Track fit revisions across proto → SMS → final approvals
- Print / Graphic / Detail Approvals
- Coordinate print development workflows: placement files, strike-offs, comments, approval status
- Track detail development (special trims, embellishment, novelty construction) and keep records clean
- Launch Readiness + Content Support
- Support product readiness: style sheets, key details, reference images, line sheet support
- Assist with photo prep: sample readiness, styling support materials, shot-list notes, detail callouts
- Help organize product assets for e-commerce workflow (product naming support, fabric descriptions, feature callouts)
- Special Projects + Systems
- Support process consistency across the development workflow (templates, trackers, handoff docs)
- Assist with building cleaner, repeatable tools and systems as needed (standard trackers, file organization)
- 1–3+ years in design assistant / product development support (women’s wear preferred)
- Strong understanding of garment construction and development workflow
- Comfortable creating/updating tech packs and managing multiple styles at once
- Proficient in Google Sheets / Excel

Adobe Illustrator preferred (or similar flats tool) - Clear communicator with strong follow-through and comfort with fast feedback loops
- Detail-oriented with good taste and respect for design intent
- Highly organized, calm, and fast with updates
- Self-starting—closes loops without being chased
- Strong “production brain” while staying design-sensitive
- Comfortable moving between creative tasks and admin precision
- Trackers are accurate and consistently up to date
- Tech packs are clean, consistent, and reflect fitting decisions
- Print/detail approvals move forward with minimal confusion
- Samples and content needs are flagged early—before deadlines
- Experience supporting e-commerce product launches or photo prep
- Familiarity with vendor/factory communication and sample tracking
- Interest in building smarter workflows and templates
