L.A. Dance Project seeks an experienced NYC-based Lighting Director to join the company for an upcoming engagement in the city. The ideal candidate will collaborate with L.A. Dance Project’s Director of Production on a complex, large-scale production, which has already been presented in both domestic and international settings. They will have a strong background in lighting design and technical implementation of existing designs in dance, theater and/or opera, and will be a skilled multi-tasker.
They will be a clear and effective communicator with strong time management and documentation skills.
Dates of the engagement are Feburary 18 - March 24.

Day-to-day Responsibilities- Contribute to all in-theater rehearsals and technical rehearsals.
- Serve as associate / support to Lighting and Scenic Designer.
- Serve as a roaming/secondary LD.
- With Stage Management, track and document all lighting cues.
- Update existing repertory lighting paperwork to document any and all changes.
- In tandem with, and instructing local crew, manage and maintain all production lighting elements.
- 5+ years of experience as a lighting director / designer.
- Proficiency in Vector Works, AutoCAD and Light wright.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to use and communicate via a Clear Com (or similar) headset and microphone.
Touring rate for the Lighting Director position is $1500.00 per week.
