Overview

The media manager ingests all forms of media from photographers and producers (cards, discs, hard drives, etc.) into servers/projects. Attention to detail is essential, as producers and editors rely on organized, uniform media loading, often in time-sensitive situations. Detailed labeling of each piece of media is imperative.

The ideal candidate understands cameras and the various formats/codecs they shoot to.

The role involves daily interaction with producers, editors, and various newsroom teams (Evening News, CBS Mornings, Sunday Morning, etc.), balancing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks based on immediacy and importance. The position requires adaptability in handling audio equipment for interviews and live shots, including rigging and cabling from the mixer to patch panels. This is a union position and the hired candidate will be required to join the union.
