What started as the largest denim launch in history, has evolved into an iconic and inclusive fashion line of denim, ready-to-wear, swim, and accessories.

Reporting to the Creative Director of Womenswear, the Design Director, Ready-to-Wear will collaborate and partner with the Creative Director of Womenswear to create a line that is on trend, sellable and has the brand integrity within our RTW category.

Responsibilities
  • Research trends and apply newness and modernity to the brand during the design process.
  • Mentor and provide inspirational leadership to all team members.
  • Strive for design excellence, improve processes, enhance team collaboration, and elevate the brand.
  • Assist the Creative Director in presenting the line during sales meetings.
  • Present market research and sketches to the Creative Director.
  • Manage the design process from initial sketch to production.
  • Ensure top quality of all RTW category products.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to create and manage the designer calendar.
  • Direct all Designers, Assistant Designers and Associate Designers to ensure trims and samples are handed off to TBGS according to calendar.
  • Delegate tasks/projects and monitor progress across the design team.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Designers, Associate Designers, and interns.
  • Partner with Merchandising & Pre-production to ensure material costs, treatments and trims meet initial FOB costing.
  • Collaborate with Production to meet timely production goals.
  • Collaborate with Patternmakers, Development and Technical Designers to confirm garment construction and look.
  • Meet with trim & fabric vendors and attend trade shows to research new fabrics, trims, and technology.
  • Participate in fabric selections and initial print reviews during seasonal meetings.
  • Meet with print/textile vendors and partner with graphic designer to create seasonal prints.
  • Attend fittings and work with the Tech team to ensure design intent and fits are properly executed.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of Fashion Design experience in the Ready-to-Wear category.
  • Exceptionally high taste level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel and Word.
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor and motivate a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thrives in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This role requires onsite presence four days a week.
