This is a one-year contract position.
Position SummaryThe UCLA Department of Film Television and Digital Media (FTVDM) is an internationally renowned public institution for the scholarly research of film and other media and for professional training in all aspects of filmmaking, with special attention to narrative and documentary film production, cinematography, animation, producing and screenwriting. FTVDM seeks to foster a talented, diverse and collegial community of faculty, students and staff committed to excellence in their field.
Salary& Compensation
- UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. - Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse clientele with diplomacy and command of subject matter. Demonstrated ability to write effectively and to the correct purpose. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to form effective working relationships to accomplish goals and tasks and work as part of a team. (Required)
- Knowledge of graduate and undergraduate student financial support, including policy, processes and sources of funding. (Preferred)
- Demonstrated skill in the effective and appropriate use of email and software for enhancing communication. (Required)
- Knowledge of confidentiality and security procedures for student examinations and other student materials. (Preferred)
- Demonstrated skill in the use of database and spreadsheet software. Demonstrated skill in creating and managing paper and electronic files. (Required)
- Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, changes in assignment, frequent interruptions or distractions, competing requirements. (Required)
- Skill in working independently and following through on unit-wide goals with minimal or no direction. (Required)
- Ability to accept equivocal circumstances and take action where answers to a problem are not readily apparent. (Required)
- Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct analytical reports. (Required)
- Skill in designing, producing and maintaining policy and procedure manuals. (Required)
- Ability to work on-site (i.e. non-remote) at department discretion. (Required)
