About High Scale

We’re High Scale — a future-focused, data-obsessed agency revolutionizing video advertising on TV and social media. Think Amazon’s obsession with customer experience meets Space

X’s fearless ambition—that’s the DNA behind everything we do.

Our 120-person team of creatives, strategists, and innovators produces thousands of high-impact campaigns weekly for the world’s leading lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and DTC brands. With 50,000 sq. ft. of DTLA studios and a global influencer network, we’re ready to 10x our output in 2026—and we need a UGC Production Manager who can take our production out of the studio and into the real world, managing high-stakes location shoots with military precision.

Why

This Role Matters

Logistics, environments, and flawless execution are your playground. As the Production Manager for Location Shoots, you are the bridge between a creative concept and physical reality. You are responsible for ensuring that when our crew arrives—whether it’s 5 people or 40—the location is locked, the permits are signed, the trucks are parked, and the camera is ready to roll.

You aren't just finding cool spots; you are mitigating risk and enabling creativity. Your work ensures that our shoots are safe, legal, and visually stunning. If you thrive on complex logistics and running a tight ship in the field, this is your launchpad.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan & Align
    • Lead weekly planning meetings with Creative and Account teams to forecast upcoming location needs.
    • Translate abstract creative concepts into concrete logistical requirements and budgets.
    • Ensure all stakeholders are aligned on the feasibility and timeline of location-based concepts.
  • Source & Secure Locations (End-to-End)
    • Scout and source locations that fit the creative brief and technical requirements.
    • Negotiate location fees, usage terms, and overtime rates to keep fees within budget.
    • Manage the approval process and ensure all bookings are finalized with fully executed agreements 14 days before the shoot.
  • Permits & Compliance
    • Own the relationship with FilmLA and other city permitting bodies.
    • Ensure every shoot has documented filming rights, proper insurance (COI), and city access.
    • Mitigate legal risk by ensuring strict compliance with property rules and local regulations.
  • Master Shoot-Day Logistics
    • Build and maintain meticulous booking sheets.
    • Create detailed parking plans for crews of up to 40 people and fleet vehicles.
    • Design load-in/load-out plans and manage location flow to maximize shooting time.
  • On-Site Execution & Vendor Coordination
    • Act as the primary day-of point person on set, troubleshooting issues in real-time.
    • Coordinate on-site staff, vendors, and specialty crew.
    • Oversee equipment delivery and setup, ensuring the crew has what they need to succeed.
  • Success Looks Like
    • Locations Locked: 14 days prior to shoot.
    • Compliance: Permits approved on time, every time.
    • Reliability: Shoots run on schedule with zero location-related cancellations.
    • Budget: Location fees and vendor costs kept strictly within the approved budget.
    Who You Are
  • Location & Production Pro
    • 3–6 years of experience in location management or production management (Commercial, TV, or Agency).
    • You know Los Angeles geography, permitting zones, and parking regulations inside and out.
  • A Master Negotiator
    • You are comfortable discussing fees with property owners and vendors. You know the market rates and how to get the best value for the production.
  • Logistics Obsessed
    • You think in terms of parking maps, power access, and holding areas.
    • You can manage the movement of 40 people and heavy equipment without creating a bottleneck.
  • Calm Under Pressure
    • When the generator fails or the neighbor complains, you don't panic. You find a solution instantly.
    • You are an excellent communicator who commands respect on set.
  • Organized & Deadline Driven
    • You never miss a permit Final date to receive applications. Your call sheets are accurate, and your budgets are up to date.
  • Perks & Benefits
    • Growth Opportunities: Influence the physical production strategy of major global brands and scale our location capabilities.
    • Relentless Innovation Culture: Move fast, test constantly, and collaborate with some of the most creative minds in social media and video production.

High Scale is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and believe it’s key to building teams that change the world—one perfectly permitted shoot at a time.
