Senior MEP Inspector –
Location:
Los Angeles, CA
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Visits construction sites and inspects each stage of construction up to completion. Interprets plans, specifications, and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with them.
- Makes daily activity logs and reports.
- Reviews or prepares interim progress reports for contractor payments, monitors contractor‑testing activities, and prepares reports on labor, material, and equipment on site.
- Arranges, coordinates, and oversees technical inspections such as electrical, mechanical, and plumbing for conformance to specification requirements.
- Monitors and installs emergency radial fans and station air handler units / dampers / filter banks, transformers, metering switch gears.
- Monitors construction sites for safety violations.
- Assists in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with LACMTA’s safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Provides training for MEP inspectors.
- Allocates inspection resources, trains and supervises inspectors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience for Senior positions which reflect a progressively increasing level of responsibility on complex projects of large commercial or industrial construction projects, heavy construction projects, transportation, or transit construction projects for the appropriate disciplines electrical, mechanical and plumbing work.
- Knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems inspection and testing (elevators, escalators, HVAC, fire alarm, lighting, blue lights, CCTV, PA, transformers, metering switch gears, traction power, etc.).
- ICC Certificate of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing.
- Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30‑Hr safety certification prior to the start of work on the project.
- Approximately ten (10) years of MEP experience.
