Roledescription
Arcadis seeks a Construction Manager – Utilities to join the Los Angeles team responsible for on‑site construction management activities and will be the secondary point of contact with the contractor during the construction phase. In this role you will review the progress of the work to assure compliance with the contract documents, ensure appropriate measurements and payments are made as necessary, and complete all project documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
You will also proactively review the contract documents to anticipate, identify, and assist with preparing any change orders needed to resolve conflicts and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager to effectively carry out assigned Transit projects involving the development and/or modification of existing underground and overhead infrastructure to include sewer, water, drainage, gas, electrical, and mechanical.
- Engage in the review and response process for submittals, RFIs, RFCs, design submittals, and claims.
- Monitor the relocation or removal of existing utilities on transit projects, identifying known, unknown, unmarked, or abandoned utilities, and ensuring the project operates within the overall existing infrastructure.
- Monitor and provide regular updates on the progress of construction activities.
- Actively participate in various meetings pertaining to the project.
- Offer technical expertise to support and substantiate contract changes.
- 10 years of experience in civil construction with approximately 5 years in the construction of transit projects.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
- Valid California Class C driver's license.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience with the California Public Utilities Commission.
- Experience with utilities in major urban streets.
- Experience as an assistant construction manager or resident engineer on projects of similar size and complexity valued over $30 million.
- Cal/OSHA 30 training certification prior to the start of work.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $160,000–$205,000.
