Project Cost Estimator

Avsar Construction is seeking an experienced Project Cost Estimator to support project delivery by developing accurate, independent construction cost estimates and providing pricing support throughout the project lifecycle. This role plays a key part in cost control, negotiations, change management, and financial decision-making across a variety of construction projects.

• Prepare preliminary and final independent detailed cost estimates for Job Order Contract (JOC) and formal construction contracts to establish negotiating positions for change orders and project controls.
• Support price negotiations with contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare claim analyses and cost estimates related to scope changes and disputes.
• Develop detailed construction cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, sketches, and square footage takeoffs using standard estimating tools and databases.
• Review contractor claims and proposals for merit, accuracy, and accountability.
• Compare independent cost estimates with contractor proposals to quickly identify variances.
• Develop scopes of work from RFIs, RFCs, and design clarifications and estimate costs independent of contractor submissions.
• Maintain knowledge of current local labor, material, and equipment costs

• Perform related duties as assigned.

• Minimum 7 years of full-time professional experience in construction cost estimating across multiple trades for facilities or building construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of local construction labor and material pricing

• Extensive experience developing and estimating change order scopes of work
  .
• Ability to evaluate contractor pricing and quickly identify discrepancies.
• Ability to independently build scopes and estimates from incomplete design information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
