Role descriptionArcadis is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to join our team in California. In this role, you will assist the Construction Manager in overseeing daily field operations, schedule tracking, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and safety compliance. Responsibilities include reviewing plans and submittals, monitoring progress and costs, coordinating inspections, maintaining project documentation, and helping resolve field issues to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
Roleaccountabilities
- Support the Construction Manager in tendering works, bid reviews and bid analysis.
- Assist with the management of construction projects upon award of contracts.
- Assist with budget monitoring & schedule monitoring with adherence to cost and delivery contractual commitments.
- Construction monitoring and thorough documentation of project delivering a weekly report on project status.
- Quality control, documentation and resolution of poor-quality fabrication, installation or materials by general contractors, trade disciplines, and suppliers.
- Assist with responding to RFI’s and change order control, including detailed knowledge of change and contractual requirements.
- Demonstrate construction management skills in the management of integration/coordination of project elements, scope management, time management, cost management, quality assurance, managing changes in priorities and communication management in the generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or relevant work experience with outside 3rd party vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- 8+ years of experience and demonstrated success with construction management or related disciplines.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to self-motivate with an entrepreneurial spirit. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, MS Project. Familiar with Blue-Beam, AutoCAD, and project management software such as Procore a plus, but not required (candidate must be willing to learn software as applicable).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance. Negotiation and construction management experience/skills.
- Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, utility plans, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules as they relate to civil, electrical, mechanical, and structures.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $235,000 - $256,000.
Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
