Child Development Center Site Supervisor Position in Los Angeles, CA

Must hold a Site Supervisor permit to be eligible for this role at Fruit of the Vine Child Development Center.

Position: SITE SUPERVISOR

Role:
Responsible for supporting the Owner/Program Director of the childcare facility.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in a Site Supervisor capacity required. License Required and Verified

Responsibilities:
Oversee the childcare and development program at a single location; deliver care, development, and educational services to children; coordinate curriculum and staff development. Support the Program Director/Owner as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and suggest suitable staff replacements to the director/owner proactively before any vacancies arise.
  • Develop and oversee an exceptional early childhood educational curriculum in alignment with the Director/Owner's approval.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and be available during emergencies for immediate support.
  • Provide monthly in-service staff training and utilize external training resources in the community when necessary.
  • Uphold the Child Care Center's overall goals and objectives effectively.
  • Establish a clear division of labor among staff for general cleaning and maintenance of the premises.
  • Complete staff write-ups as needed to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Ensure all staff members adhere to the daily schedule consistently.
  • Maintain a dynamic waitlist to ensure full capacity through an active child enrollment outreach program.
  • Stay compliant with building license requirements and oversee building and equipment maintenance diligently.
  • Adhere to Title 22, Title 5, and Health and Safety regulations on a daily basis.
  • Conduct classroom sessions in an organized manner, fostering a disciplined yet nurturing atmosphere.
  • Teach curriculum subjects using approved methods and materials under the School Administration's guidance.
  • Supervise, train, and support teaching staff and new Day Care personnel in the classroom.
  • Keep the school environment orderly, oversee equipment repairs, and manage supplies efficiently.
  • Handle billing procedures monthly and ensure all necessary forms and notices are distributed promptly.
  • Maintain up-to-date attendance records and follow up on absences exceeding two days.
  • Prepare lesson plans, progress charts, and report cards for classroom children, conducting parent conferences bi-annually.
  • Organize and participate in parent meetings, open houses, and weekly meetings with the program director.
  • Fulfill CACFP Food Program Manager/Administrator duties as outlined.
  • Ensure compliance with CCTR and CSPP contracts daily, meeting all deadlines accurately.
  • Plan and execute annual events for staff and children.
  • Perform any other necessary duties as required for effective childcare operations.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate for the Site Supervisor position at the Child Development Center in Los Angeles, CA, must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher, which includes 24 ECE/CD units covering core courses, 6 administration units, and 2 adult supervision units.
  • A current Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is mandatory for this role.
  • The Site Supervisor should be capable of engaging in light physical work, such as lifting and carrying children weighing 14 to 30 pounds, bending, crouching, kneeling, and performing other light physical activities necessary for childcare.
  • Maintaining composure under pressure and effectively managing stress is crucial for the Site Supervisor, along with creating a pleasant work environment free from adverse conditions.
