Used by leading fertility clinics throughout the United States, we help patients navigate and afford treatments. Our company ingests unique patient biodata to support patients using AI/ML. Sunfish’s team is composed of individuals with backgrounds in fertility, health tech, insurtech, and fintech – all with a shared passion for bringing equity to family building.

And we’ve done this before – our executive team has had 11 exits and 3 IPOs to date.

The Position

We’re seeking a strategic, execution‑oriented Head of Operations to lead and scale our company functions during a period of rapid growth. You will be responsible for building the systems, processes, and cross‑functional alignment that ensure Sunfish delivers a seamless, high‑quality experience to our clients, partners, and internal teams. Importantly, you will help with defining and tracking KPIs, building the team cross‑functionally, contracting and risk management.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll oversee day‑to‑day operations while driving long‑term operational strategy, balancing big‑picture thinking with hands‑on execution. This is a role for a leader who thrives on creating order from complexity, scaling processes, and empowering venture‑backed teams to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance Management & Reporting
  • Define key operational metrics (KPIs) and reporting cadences, ensure a 'test, measure, learn' ethos throughout the company.
  • Monitor performance to identify gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement data‑driven solutions to improve efficiency, conversion rates, and client satisfaction.
  • Team Development & Management
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the operations and support teams.
  • Set clear goals and expectations while empowering team members to take ownership.
  • Recruit and onboard top operational talent to support company scaling.
  • Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Partner with legal and compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quality control measures to safeguard client data and financial transactions.
  • Strategy & Leadership
  • Partner with the CEO to define operational priorities aligned with company growth goals.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear operational plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Build and maintain a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross‑Functional Operations
  • Design and refine scalable workflows for client onboarding, financing processes, partner management, and support services.
  • Streamline cross‑functional processes to ensure smooth handoffs between Growth, Member and Clinic Success, HR, and Finance.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for service delivery and client experience.
Must‑Have Skills And Experience
  • Deep expertise in data analytics, financial modeling, and strategic analysis
  • Prior experience at an early stage, venture‑backed startup
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategy and unit economics, strong financial skills
  • Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights into clear business recommendations, using word documents and PPT
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, or other analytics tools and BI tools
  • Ability to execute and excitement to work in a fast‑moving, unpredictable startup environment
  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Passion for our mission
  • Healthtech and/or fintech experience are preferred
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis
