Position DescriptionThe Senior Contract & Grant Analyst provides guidance to UCLA faculty and staff in proposal development and award management, reviews and authorizes the submission of electronic and paper proposals, and negotiates, accepts and executes moderately complex contract and grant awards from government and non‑profit sponsors. Institutional administration for a portfolio of routine and non‑routine research, public service and training of pre‑award and non‑financial post‑award activities supported by government (federal, state, county and municipal) and non‑profit entities (foundations, educational institutions, research organizations) for campus departments.
While delivering excellent customer service, primary responsibilities include:
- Communicate complex policies and procedures in a helpful and professional manner to campus investigators and department support staff to address questions regarding existing contracts and grants.
- Independently review proposals and/or negotiate moderately complex grants, subgrants, and other assignments.
- Initiate review of contracts and subcontracts.
- Develop and participate in assigned special projects and collaborate with and support training efforts for junior staff members.
This position has delegated signature authority by the Regents of the University of California and operational policies under the current threshold based on direct costs. The Contract & Grant Senior Analyst is expected to professionally represent OCGA demonstrating skill, enthusiasm, positive problem solving, commitment and loyalty to the profession and the organization.
ResponsibilitiesBased on the organizational structure of OCGA there are three main areas of responsibilities. The position will have primary focus in one of the following areas:
- Contracts & Grants – Involves administrative support to the team responsible for negotiation and management of contract and grant proposals, awards and non‑financial post‑award activities.
- Outgoing Subawards – Involves administrative support to the team responsible for drafting, negotiating and executing third‑party agreements where UCLA is the prime grantee / awardee, including non‑financial post‑award activities.
- Proposal & Award Intake Team – Involves administrative support in the receipt, review, tracking and communications (internal and external) for all proposals and awards.
- Remote work offered.
