Position: Director of Financial Planning  (Beauty)

This role is responsible for leading an end-to-end planning function, integrating demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory management into a unified, data-driven process that supports operational efficiency, product availability, and financial performance.

The position provides strategic leadership across demand and supply planning activities, ensuring accurate forecasting, optimized production schedules, and strong alignment with product innovation, operational, and financial objectives. The role also oversees the implementation of planning tools and processes to improve visibility, forecast accuracy, and decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of building scalable planning infrastructure to support continued growth and expansion.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Demand Planning Leadership
  • Oversee the demand planning process across multiple channels.
  • Partner with commercial and finance teams to consolidate forecast inputs and translate business trends into demand projections.
  • Lead recurring demand reviews, driving accountability for forecast accuracy and bias reduction.
  • Provide analytical insights into sales trends, promotions, and new product launches to support key decisions.
  • Continuously refine forecast models, reporting cadence, and demand visibility tools.
2. Supply Planning & Inventory Management
  • Oversee a rolling supply plan aligned with demand forecasts, supplier lead times, and capacity constraints.
  • Lead and mentor team members to ensure accurate production schedules, supplier communication, and raw material availability.
  • Establish and manage inventory health KPIs (e.g., Weeks of Supply, Inventory Turns, E&O, Fill Rate).
  • Partner with procurement and logistics to ensure supply continuity and timely replenishment.
  • Design and implement safety stock and reorder strategies that balance service levels and working capital.
3. Planning Process Ownership
  • Serve as process owner for the planning cadence, ensuring cross-functional alignment across key stakeholders.
  • Drive consensus forecasting and scenario planning based on risk and opportunity assessments.
  • Deliver accurate data packages and recommendations in support of executive reviews.
  • Lead recurring planning meetings with clear insights and actionable recommendations.
4. Systems & Process Enablement
  • Partner with technology teams to design and enhance reporting within the ERP and related systems.
  • Standardize reporting and automate recurring processes to improve efficiency and visibility.
  • Support integration of planning data across ERP, inventory, and external logistics systems.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with product teams to ensure new launches, reformulations, and discontinuations are captured in plans.
  • Collaborate with finance to align inventory and production plans with financial targets.
  • Partner with operations and logistics leaders to ensure fulfillment readiness based on forecasted demand.
  • Contribute to planning-related information requests for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and develop a small team focused on demand, supply, and inventory planning.
  • Set clear goals, KPIs, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and proactive problem solving.
  • Build long-term planning capability through scalable tools, processes, and training.
Qualifications
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, supply planning, or integrated planning roles within consumer-focused industries.
  • Proven experience leading combined demand, supply, and inventory planning functions.
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills with deep understanding of planning KPIs.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and forecasting tools.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Demonstrated success implementing or enhancing structured planning processes in a growth environment.
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
Experience
  • Prior experience overseeing both demand and supply planning activities.
  • Track record of improving forecast accuracy and reducing excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Strong understanding of production lead times, minimum order quantities, and supply constraints.
  • Familiarity with planning for new product introductions.
