About the team
With the rapid expansion of Tik Tok Shop's business in the US market, the Marketing & Methodology team supports the platform’s e-commerce growth by building standardized marketing frameworks, data-driven methodologies, and scalable go-to-market best practices. The team bridges strategic methodology with marketing execution, enabling cross-functional teams to make consistent decisions, optimize resource allocation, and drive high-impact, sustainable growth across markets and categories.
- Develop general merchant operation methodologies and industry-specific operating solutions for Tik Tok Shop US, based on data analysis, merchant research, and in-depth case studies.
- Evaluate merchant operating performance across different growth stages, identify key drivers and bottlenecks, and distill scalable e-commerce operating methodologies to guide merchants toward measurable business results.
- Lead deep-dive research on key strategic topics, including creator collaboration models, merchant self-produced content, and search, recommendation, and marketplace operations.
- Define core operating metrics and evaluation frameworks to support methodology development and continuous iteration.
- Synthesize research findings into structured strategy frameworks and methodologies, and support cross-functional teams with analytical insights and strategic guidance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in research-driven roles within content-driven e-commerce, including strategy research, central strategy teams, business analytics, or roles focused on scaling operating models through data and insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong research, analytical, and abstraction capabilities, with the ability to identify merchant operating patterns, uncover underlying drivers of performance, and synthesize insights into structured, scalable methodologies; deep understanding of the e-commerce value chain.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and influence skills, with a strong sense of ownership and strategic perspective; ability to work closely with product, marketing, and industry operations teams to translate research insights into frameworks, tools, and scalable solutions.
