PositionSummary
Lead Technician – sign‑on bonus of $2,000 for first‑time hires. Pay range: $21.06 – $41.23 per hour. This role requires technical expertise in diagnosing drivability and electrical systems, along with leadership and mentoring skills to drive customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems according to specifications.
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non‑mechanical staff.
- Maintain current knowledge of automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
- Assist and train technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
- Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least five of A1–A8 within first two years (tests and registration fees paid; bonus for each test passed).
- Valid automobile driver’s license at all times and ability to drive company vehicles.
- Skilled in brake diagnostics/repair.
- Skilled in alignment, steering & suspension diagnostics/repair.
- Skilled in general automotive maintenance & tire repair.
- Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical people.
- Reading, writing and math skills.
- Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drivetrain/transmission, or automotive heating/AC.
- 5 years of automotive repair experience with third‑party assessment/certification or completion of Vocational‑Technical School Program.
- A.S.E. certification in at least 3 of A1–A8 (L1 can be one of the three).
