Job Summary:

As a Motorcoach Mechanic at Alvand Transportation, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses and motorcoaches. You will perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to keep our vehicles running smoothly and safely, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and compliant with all safety regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise in automotive systems and a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

The Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring minimal downtime and the ongoing safety of the transportation fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine diagnostic tests and identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues with fleet vehicles.

· Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, and tire rotations to ensure vehicles are operating efficiently.

· Perform major repairs, including engine and transmission work, to restore vehicles to full operational condition.

· Conduct safety inspections on all vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards and prevent breakdowns.

· Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

· Order replacement parts and maintain an inventory of essential tools and equipment needed for vehicle repairs.

· Respond to vehicle breakdowns and provide roadside assistance as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

· Collaborate with the Yard Supervisor and Fleet Operations Administrator to prioritize and manage repair schedules.

· Provide training and mentoring to apprentices or junior mechanics to develop their skills and knowledge.

· Stay up-to-date with advancements in automotive technology and integrate new techniques or equipment into daily operations.

· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Technical certification in automotive or diesel mechanics.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.

Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software.

Possesses a deep understanding of automotive systems and mechanical repair techniques.

Problem-Solving:
Able to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively.

Safety Awareness:
Maintains a strong focus on vehicle and workplace safety standards.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Requires frequent standing, bending, and lifting of heavy tools or parts.

Exposure to engine oils, chemicals, and the noise of mechanical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in transportation or logistics.

Familiarity with route planning and scheduling software.

CDL (if not already obtained, willingness to obtain one)
