Description Basic FunctionUnder moderate supervision, performs all types of body and paint repairs on light rail vehicles.
Recruitment TimelineMultiple Choice Exams are projected to be scheduled for the week of February 16, 2026. Performance Exams are projected to be scheduled for the week of March 2, 2026. Examplesof Duties
- Repairs body and paint damage to the interior and exterior of the light rail vehicles
- Removes vehicle parts such as headlights to perform repairs on the damaged areas
- Uses Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding equipment to repair damage
- Mixes paints, matches colors, and paints vehicle surfaces with high volume low pressure (HVLP) spray guns
- Responds to emergency body repair and maintenance requirements of rail vehicles
- Contributes to ensuring that the EEO policies and programs of Metro are carried out

WebsiteMinimum Qualifications- 2 years’ experience in paint and body repair of cars, trucks, or rail vehicles and six months' welding experience
- Successful completion of a full-time training program from an accredited school in paint and body repair may be substituted for an equivalent amount of actual work experience
