Position: Executive Assistant to the CIO

JOB SUMMARY

This is not your typical Executive Assistant role. The Executive Assistant is the right hand to the Chief Impact Officer (CIO), a trusted thought partner, master organizer, problem-solver, and occasional calm-in-the-storm for a very busy executive leading high-impact, community-focused work. You must be someone who loves lists and people, can juggle a packed calendar without breaking a sweat, and brings a positive, "we've got this" energy to everything you touch.

You must thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, enjoy wearing multiple hats, and care about mission-driven work that truly makes a difference. You're proactive, organized, resourceful, and fun to work with, someone who sees what needs to be done and just...does it.

PAY RATE: $70,000-$85,000 per year

IN-OFFICE REQUIRED M-F

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The SoLa Foundation is the community-centered platform advancing equitable economic mobility in historically disinvested communities across South Los Angeles, working to deliver lasting, measurable outcomes. Led by Chief Impact Officer Sherri Francois
, The Foundation focuses on designing and implementing workforce development initiatives, education and career pipelines, youth and internship programs, and resident-centered services that expand access to opportunity and economic participation.

Guided by a data-driven, people-first approach, our social impact focus works collaboratively with The Foundation, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, civic leaders, and private-sector partners to ensure accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Keep the CIO's ever-evolving calendar running smoothly, scheduling meetings, managing priorities, and adjusting on the fly when plans change (because they will)
  • Act as a key connector between the CIO and internal teams, board members, donors, partners, and community leaders
  • Prepare emails, talking points, presentations, and pre-meeting briefs so the CIO walks into every meeting prepared
  • Take clear, accurate notes during meetings and track action items to ensure follow-through actually happens
  • Support and coordinate virtual and in-person meetings, events, and convenings—from logistics to follow-ups
  • Organize expenses and prepare expense reports with accuracy and timeliness
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets, trackers, and databases using Excel and Google Sheets (bonus points if you love a clean spreadsheet)
  • Consistently update Salesforce CRM with CIO's and your own contacts, notes, and relevant documents to improve organizational data health and efficiency
  • Jump in to support the Social Impact team on projects and events, offering help before being asked
  • Anticipate needs, solve problems, and suggest improvements to help things run better and smoother
  • Take on special projects and tasks as they arise (no two days look exactly the same)
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 4 years of experience as an Executive Assistant, senior administrative professional, or project coordinator in a professional, entrepreneurial, corporate, or mission-driven setting
  • Experience supporting senior leadership is required
  • Interest or experience in social impact, community work, or public-good initiatives is a plus
YOU'RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU
  • Are extremely organized but also flexible when plans shift

  • Have a "no task is too small" mindset and take pride in doing things well
  • Communicate clearly, warmly, and professionally, both in writing and in conversation
  • Enjoy working with a wide range of people, from donors and board members to staff, youth, and community partners
  • Are proactive, forward-thinking, and naturally anticipate what's coming next
  • Can manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and good judgment
  • Bring positive energy, curiosity, and a sense of humor to your work
