A fast-growing, founder-led hospitality group with 80+ locations (and 170 more in development) is hiring an Assistant Controller or Senior Accounting Manager to lead daily accounting operations and support future M&A and IPO readiness. This is a newly created role offering visibility, growth, and the chance to help build scalable accounting infrastructure for a rapidly expanding multi-unit restaurant organization.
What You’ll Lead- Daily accounting operations across GL, AP/AR, cash management, payroll oversight, and fixed assets
- A hard 5‑day close using Sage Intacct (busy close week; strong work/life balance the rest of the month)
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Collaboration with operations and FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and restaurant performance
- GAAP compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness (audited by Baker Tilly; tax by BDO)
- Process improvements and system optimization (POS communicates sales daily; systems not fully integrated yet)
- Supervision of a Sr. Accountant and AP/AR Specialist
- Support for M&A, due diligence, and IPO preparation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
CPA strongly preferred - 5–15+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 3–5+ years supervising accounting staff
- Experience in restaurants, hospitality, food & beverage, retail, or other inventory-heavy, multi-unit environments
- Strong GAAP knowledge and multi-location reporting experience
- ERP experience (Sage Intacct a plus) and advanced Excel
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Japanese language skills are helpful, but not required
