A high-growth, venture-backed technology company is seeking a Controller to lead and scale its accounting function. This role will own end-to-end accounting operations and play a key role in strengthening financial infrastructure as the business continues to expand across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, audit management, and building a best-in-class accounting organization that can support rapid growth and increasing complexity.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building scalable processes while partnering closely with cross-functional leaders.
What You'll Do
- Own all accounting operations including general ledger, revenue accounting, AR, AP, payroll, equity, and tax compliance across a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction organization
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement of close timelines
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and lead annual audits and interim reviews
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and statutory reporting requirements at the local, state, federal, and international levels
- Research and resolve complex accounting issues; draft technical accounting memos and support the adoption of new accounting standards
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting systems, tools, and financial technology to support scale and reduce manual processes
- Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support audit readiness and risk mitigation
- Build, mentor, and manage the accounting team, developing both technical expertise and leadership capability
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Revenue Operations, Sales, Professional Services, People, and Legal to support business initiatives
- Analyze financial trends and communicate results, risks, and insights clearly to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within high-growth technology or SaaS environments
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting best practices
- Proven experience leading audits and working with external advisors
- Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and influence stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus
- Meaningful equity participation
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Flexible PTO and hybrid/remote flexibility
- Stipends to support remote work
- Career growth opportunities within a rapidly scaling organization
- Collaborative, high-performance culture focused on innovation and impact
