Responsibilities- Independently manage accounting functions for wholly owned projects, ensuring accuracy in cash reconciliations, funding source budgets, and draw preparations.
- Proactively oversee project costs by maintaining accounts payable and collaborating with departments to adjust budgets based on job cost reports.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of detailed financial reports with minimal supervision.
- Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules, ensuring timely recording of draws and pay downs on construction loans, along with monthly reconciliations of loan and interest payments.
- Assist in joint venture reporting by collecting and reviewing financials, preparing trial balances for Yardi uploads, and running quarterly capital balance reports.
- Execute quarterly preferred return and waterfall schedules for all projects, ensuring accurate financial tracking.
- Support the accounting team with ad-hoc assignments to adapt to evolving business needs.
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct property/project accounting experience.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting automation tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Nice-to-Have:
- Exposure to fund accounting or private equity funds.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-starter attitude.
- Interest in optimizing and automating accounting processes.
