Job Responsibilities:
- Audit and post weekly sales to the general ledger by working with IT to ensure all sales are properly captured.
- Prepare general ledger entries and perform month?end reconciliations related to lease accounting for over 560 stores, including ASC 842, excess rent, prepaid CAM, and taxes.
- Prepare month?end journal entries and account reconciliations for accounts such as prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and cash.
- Review expense accounts to categorize spending accurately and provide explanations for significant variances.
- Perform monthly store?level cash disbursement audits to confirm that transactions are recorded appropriately.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills when working with cross?functional departments.
- Communicate clearly when providing explanations for variances and financial activity.
- Apply strong organizational skills to manage high?volume accounting tasks and deadlines.
- Utilize Microsoft applications effectively to support reporting and analysis.
- Adapt quickly in a multi?unit retail environment while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher, with a concentration in Accounting preferred.
- Bring experience with ASC 842 and month?end close processes, or the ability to learn these quickly.
- Use Microsoft applications proficiently to complete accounting tasks.
- Apply knowledge of multi?unit retail operations and SAP systems, with experience preferred.
- Support fixed asset accounting by reviewing invoices and determining proper capitalization in accordance with GAAP.
