Cost Accountant; Manufacturing

A leading provider of innovative packaging solutions in the Los Angeles, California area is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This full-time, in-office role is responsible for managing cost accounting functions and supporting financial operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee cost accounting processes, including COGS, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation.
• Develop cost estimates for new and existing products, covering materials, labor, and overhead.
• Track production costs and identify variances or inefficiencies.
• Handle month-end and year-end close activities related to cost accounting.
• Collaborate with operations teams to analyze cost drivers and improve decision-making.
• Assist in developing standard costs and maintaining accurate BOMs and routings.
• Provide cost analysis to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5+ years of accounting experience with a focus on manufacturing or cost accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with accounting systems such as Quick Books.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience analyzing financial data.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines accurately.

Hours:

Full-time, in-office only.
