Rose, Snyder & Jacobs LLP is seeking a Tax Senior with 3-5+ years of experience in public accounting. This position is in our family office group. We are seeking a senior-level associate with experience and/or interest in focusing in this practice area.
Experience in multi-state returns is required.

About You
You are a personable professional committed to a career in public accounting. You have experience or interest in family office tax preparation work and experience or an interest in preparing multi-state partnership, S-Corp, and individual returns.
Experience with multi-state returns is required. Your written and oral communication skills are first-rate, as is your attention to detail and ability to meet a deadline. You take pride in providing stellar customer service to your clients and collaborating with your colleagues. You are equally adept in following directions when needed and using your creativity to solve problems and think outside the box.
You are often praised for your excellent judgement and curiosity – knowing when to take the initiative, when to ask for direction from managers, and a passion to dig deeper to find solutions. You have public accounting experience and enjoy working with a variety of clients. You have either your CPA or EA license or are in the process of obtaining your license.
You’ll Do
- Prepare and analyze individual, trust, and pass-through tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax codes, laws and regulations, including complex multi-state returns and separate activity schedules.
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation of tax preparation work;
- Stay up-to-date on tax codes, laws, and regulations and provide updates to associates on your team;
- Keep managers apprised on status of projects and deadlines;
- Actively participate in client internal meetings and discussions;
- Assist with responses to IRS and state tax notices including speaking with the IRS (or other state tax agencies); and
- Conduct research on tax matters and provide advice to clients
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
- 3-5 + years of public accounting firm experience
- Demonstrated experience with pass-through returns
- CPA/EA, or in process of obtaining a CPA/EA
- Ability to work overtime during busy season
- Knowledge of Prosystems or CCH Axcess Tax and Engagement Trial Balance software
- Knowledge of XCM Tracking Systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)

- Salary Range: $85k-$105k (commensurate with experience)
- Health Insurance:
1) Medical Insurance - $85/month for employee only (additional cost for covering dependents),

3) Vision Insurance - Health Savings Account available if electing medical insurance coverage from the firm (firm contributes $1300 annually – accrues monthly)

Busy Season HoursThe Family Office group aims for a smooth year with a limited number of weeks that require 50+ billable hours. A more normal schedule would be to work 40+ billable hour weeks for a longer period rather than work excessive hours for a short period.
