Entry‑Level Accounting Clerk – Trust Accounting

Century City, CA (Onsite 3 Days/Week)
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Pay Range: $24–$27/hour (based on experience)
Experience:
0–3 years of accounting experience preferred
A professional services firm in Century City is seeking an entry‑level Accounting position to support its Trust Accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to build a foundation in accounting within a stable, growth‑focused environment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working with sensitive financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process incoming payments and apply them accurately to client trust accounts
- Monitor account balances, reconcile discrepancies, and update ledgers accordingly
- Assist with daily bank deposits and tracking of client funds
- Maintain accurate and organized trust records in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to trust transactions
- Support month‑end close processes and assist with audit preparation as needed
- Help with general accounting tasks and special projects as assigned by the department
Qualifications:
- 0–3 years of accounting, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping experience (internships or coursework accepted)
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow trust accounting protocols
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (a plus)
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow within the role
