Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Job Overview

This role leads the accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions for a multi‑entity retail and e‑commerce business. The Controller is a hands‑on partner to senior leadership and owns the close process, financial statements, inventory accounting, and internal controls. The position works closely with operations, marketing, and logistics and requires experience in consumer products, retail, or e‑commerce environments.

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Prepare GAAP‑compliant financial statements
• Maintain chart of accounts, fixed assets, depreciation, and inventory valuations
• Reconcile e‑commerce sales, payment processors, and inventory systems
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition using platform and systems data
• Monitor inventory metrics including SKUs, turnover, and unit valuation
• Ensure inventory accuracy across warehouses and fulfillment partners
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
• Provide variance analysis and financial modeling
• Support pricing, promotions, and product launches
• Partner with operations, marketing, and logistics teams
• Establish and maintain internal accounting and inventory controls
• Lead and mentor accounting staff
• Drive accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or Controller experience
• Retail, e‑commerce, or consumer goods experience preferred
• ERP and accounting system experience;
  Net Suite preferred
• E‑commerce platforms and systems integration experience;
  Shopify a plus
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Detail‑oriented, ethical, and proactive problem solver
